It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the 23rd president of CAHCEO. I am humbled and grateful to the Executive Board and the entire membership for the trust and faith thy have bestowed on me to oversee the affairs of this organization. The Connecticut Association of Housing Code Enforcement Officials was founded and incorporated on May 17, 1971 by Code Enforcement Officials in cities and towns across the State that were responsible for enforcing housing code standards in their respective jurisdictions.
The vision of the founding fathers in part, is to create a statewide organization that would provide and support professional development through education, training, networking, and advocacy on housing related matters to the esteem membership. My priorities as president are to strengthen the CAHCEO membership by reaching out to all stakeholders and educational institutions to create educational opportunities through our quarterly seminars. I would also work diligently with partners, industry and stakeholders to raise the minimum standards of housing throughout the state for the good of the organization.
The journey will not be a smooth one without your commitment and support, but together, we shall continue to make CAHCEO relevant and continue to create public health awareness regarding safety and sanitary maintenance of dwellings. I would also like to elevate the standards to inform and educate all Code Enforcement Officials involved with quality of live issues within the State and beyond through partnership and collaboration with the International Code Council (ICC), Connecticut Environmental Health Association (CEHA) and the Connecticut Building Officials Association (CBOA).
I would like to welcome the new CAHCEO Executive Board and members and I am looking forward to working with all of you. As you navigate our website and not currently a member, I hope you will consider becoming a member and actively participate in keeping our communities healthy and safe.
